  • Studio Middle is a Montessori middle school program for students ages 11–14, founded by the team behind Montessori East. It operates as a single-classroom community — intentionally small, purposefully structured around the way adolescents actually learn best.

  • St. Luke’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 901 Old Hickory in Madison 13 minutes from Montessori East. We will have our own space and our own entrance with plenty of parking. The facility offers a commercial kitchen, a brand new gym, theater space for performing arts, ample outdoor space and more.

  • Students entering 6th through 8th grade (roughly ages 11–14). Current Montessori East families have first access before enrollment opens more broadly. Interested? Schedule a call.

  • No, but they do have to have a love of learning and a can-do attitude to be able to transition into a program like Studio Middle.

  • We are currently accepting inquiries and having early conversations with interested families. Formal enrollment for the 27/28 school year will open Dec 1, 2026. If you'd like to be notified first, reach out directly to Alice.

  • The school day is 8:30-4:30. The school week consists of land days, classroom days, and creative days. Land days will include any kind of land cultivate and education, work days will be academically focused, and creative days will include artistic expression in a variety of media.

  • Students engage with the full range of academics : literacy, math, history, science, the arts, etc.

  • A little, but the goal is for the most meaningful work to happen during the day. What goes home tends to be reading, reflection, or follow-up on something a student is already invested in. We want our students to be able to focus on rest, athletics, arts, and being a kid in the afternoons.

  • Tuition will be around 13,000 but we are flexible! There can be a discussion around cost with any family that wants to have one.
